ParadoxIRC was set up in April 2009 using UnrealIRCd and Anope IRC Services. At this time the network was known as NixtrixStudios.co.uk. ParadoxIRC came into existence after a ex-administrator left another network to seek out a fresh challenge. It was initially a private “friends only” network, but more people showed up so the network was then released to the public. A few months after creation the network was renamed to NixtrixIRC.net.
In August 2010, founding member Nixtrix, left the network so he could concentrate on university and his private life, and not feel over whelmed by running the network. Bertrum took over the network in August 2010.
In September 2010, ParadoxIRC switched from UnrealIRCd to InspIRCd
In October 2011, ConflictIRC was delinked due to the administrators having different views how the network should be run, this was completed on good terms and the networks still help each other out. (1 ConflictIRC admin remains an Operator on ParadoxIRC)
In November 2011, Game-Proz was merged into ParadoxIRC, and as of writing (August 2011) Game-Proz are still part of the network.
In December 2010 the network was renamed to what it is currently known as, ParadoxIRC.
In April 2011, Nixtrix returned to IRC, and decided he would restart NixtrixIRC, however it would not be ParadoxIRC renaming, NixtrixIRC would simply co-exist along-side ParadoxIRC.
Later in April 2011, ParadoxIRC switched to Atheme IRC services, and linked with AlphaChat. The link with AlphaChat lasted until June 2011.
In June 2011, Bertrum and the rest of the ParadoxIRC staff decided it was in the best interests of the network to seperate from AlphaChat, due to growing concerns about the directon AlphaChat was taking. So in late June 2011, ParadoxIRC split from AlphaChat.
A few days later ParadoxIRC merged with GigIRC (where Bertrum was already an IRC operator, and where the #irc-wiki channel was located) and a few days after that, NixtrixIRC was linked into ParadoxIRC too, this time keeping it's own branding.
