NickServ allows registration of nicknames with a valid email address. You may hold multiple nicknames to your primary nick. Built-in GHOST command allows for killing of timed-out connections, or persons who are taking your nick. Nickname enforcement changes your nickname to a guest nick if you do not identify within a certain time after connecting. The servers on the network will, by default, mask your connecting host to other clients; however virtual hosts (vhosts) are available upon request.
ChanServ is for registering channels on the network, though registration is not required to create a new channel. ChanServ can remain in your channel and hand out ops status to channel operators. ChanServ also can greet users upon entry, tell users about the channel webpage, maintain the channel topic, force certain channel modes on or off, disallow people who aren't in its list from becoming operators, maintain ban lists, kick users, and can be used to regain control of a channel in the event of a takeover. ChanServ may be configured on a per-channel basis to answer users in channel as well as in private messages (known as "Fantasy Commands"), for example using "!topic New topic" in channel instead of having to message the bot.
MemoServ gives the ability for users to leave memos to each other. Both nicks must be registered (the sender and the recipient) for MemoServ to allow for leaving memos. Users can opt to have their memos emailed to them when they're delivered.
GameServ adds a few basic game-type commands, allowing for dice rolls, a Magic 8-Ball responder, and a name generator.
NickServ, ChanServ and MemoServ can also be accessed with the shortcut commands /NS, /CS and /MS. |
