The NickServ autoops function gives users the ability to join a channel without privileges being assigned. This is mainly for users who frequent channels where authority isn't an issue, and people very rarely need to use their channel powers. All the normal commands still work, and users can Op/DeOp as needed. This feature is obviously not for everyone, but as a network we believe that everyone is equal, and our users have the ability to have the necessary power to deal with troublemakers, while not always being singled out as authority figures.
