ChatX has a number of different services to make your visit more comfortable, and hassle-free as possible. Below is some infomration about each service.

Services Policies

* Nicknames expire after 30 days of inactivty (e.g. not identifying to it).
* Channels expire after 30 days of inactivity (e.g. not identifying to it, and/or no CFOUNDER, SOP, AOP joning every 30 days).
* Memos will expire after 20 days.
* Maximum of 50 memos. If you reach your max you'll need to delete some before you may recieve more memos.
* Maximum of 5 memos from the same person.


Communicating with Services

Please use caution when sending your passwords to services. ChatX's staff will never ask you for your password unless you specifically request our help with a password issue. Additionally, ensure you are really identifying to NickServ and ChanServ when supplying your nickname or channel passwords.

We have developed several methods of identifying to services in an effort to prevent impersonators from getting your passwords. They are:

* /msg NickServ@services.chatx.net IDENTIFY
* /msg ChanServ@services.chatx.net IDENTIFY <#channel>
* /NickServ IDENTIFY
* /ChanServ IDENTIFY <#channel>
* /NS IDENTIFY
* /CS IDENTIFY <#channel>


NickServ:
ChatX's nickname registration service allows users to register their nickname by providing a password and valid e-mail address, securing their identity and preventing others from using it. NickServ registration is required to use any other ChatX service, such a ChanServ and MemoServ.

ChanServ:
ChanServ is ChatX's channel (chat room) registration service, which allows users to register a channel. ChanServ prevents channel takeovers, and provides tools to help secure a channel, manage channel operator access lists, lock channel modes and more.

MemoServ:
MemoServ is ChatX's memorandum service. It allows users with a NickServ registration to send and recieve memos to other users with registered nicknames when they are on or offline. Memos can be sent to individual users or to all channel operators of a specific channel.

S:
S is ChatX's statistical service, which monitors and logs various statistical information about the servers, users and channels presently on the network and displays it on our Stats page. Channel founders may request S to join a monitor channel, which in return will allow users to view limited stastical information in the channel via S' fantasy commands, as well as on the Stats page.
