Love of Theology is the surrogate home of www.christcenteredforums.com on IRC.
We offer very few restrictions on content, and seek to create a medium for more serious discussions that would not be allowable on the primary forums of CCF. We also allow very mild and Christian-only discussion in some of the channels, and offer you the availability to enforce your own ruleset (within reason) for your own rooms that you create. If you'd like to discuss this, please /msg intricatic, or email the webmaster: intricatic@loveoftheology.org.
This network was created to fill the need on the internet for a chat network dedicated to serious exploration of the Biblical faith. The foundation of the network is that cultural Christianity has undermined any opportunity to grow in faith through the utility of both apologetics and theology. As such, we welcome unbelievers and non-theists, provided they play nicely with others and do not belittle the Christian faith. At the same time, we also respect the opportunity to help develop an inter-Christian ministry, to help prepare Christians to face the trials of a fallen world.
To quote Fancis Schaeffer: "Christians have tended to despise the concept of philosophy. This has been one of the weaknesses of evangelical, orthodox Christianity -- we have been proud in despising philosophy, and we have been exceedingly proud in despising the intellect. Our theological seminaries hardly ever relate their theology to philosophy, and specifically to the current philosophy. Thus, students go out from the theological seminaries not knowing how to relate Christianity to the surrounding world-view. It is not that they do not know the answers. My observation is that most students graduating from our theological seminaries do not know the questions." |
