Russian language is spoken (also Ukrainian). Most users are from Russia and Ukraine. Code page 1251 is used, but servers offer translation to KOI8, CP866, MacCyrillic and latin. UTF-8 is also supported, and, unlike most Russian networks, transfer of arbitrary Unicode characters is possible. Cyrillic letters in nicks and channel names are permitted. The network has a custom (and gradually developing) IRCd software based on UnrealIRCd. There are also some experimental software to allow a link between heterogeneous IRCd software and even different nick namespaces.
