The Cryto IRC network is a freely usable network with strict separation between network and channel business, resulting in minimal moderation - the main focus is towards developers (programmers, designers, etc.) and groups that are considered unwelcome on other networks due to controversial viewpoints or ideological differences. Channel moderation is left up entirely to the channel owner and assigned staff, and no moderation policy is enforced. Network moderation only extends to behaviour that negatively effects the network as a whole or a variety of unrelated channels - network operators do not involve themselves into channel policy or conflicts, and (except for network matters) consider themselves on equal footing with other users; no privileges are assumed. Several geographically distributed client leafs are provided, of which some with IPv6 access, for optimal redundancy and reliability. Hostnames/IPs are (partially) masked by default, custom vhosts can be requested in #vhost, and network operators will not share IPs of users with others. |
