- | Our aim is to make peoples' ircing as enjoyable as possible, and as such |
- | we have created the following guidelines for the use of the network - if |
- | you do not agree with the following then disconnect now. |

- | Any client that connects to the dark-storm network is scanned for the |
- | presence of open proxies/wingates that could be abused for flood/bot |
- | attacks. If such an open proxy/wingate is detected, then the user will |
- | be G-lined (banned) from the network for 15 minutes. By connecting, you |
- | agree to let us scan ports 23, 80, 81, 3128, 6588, 8000 and 8080 on the |
- | machine you are connecting from for the presence of open proxies. |
- | |
- | Bots are permitted, providing they are 'friendly' - e.g. for channel |
- | protection or amusement (quizbots and the like) - Bots that are used to |
- | purposefully disrupt the network by flooding/spamming/channel takeovers |
- | etc are NOT allowed and will get banned. |
- | |
- | Warez/porn/mp3 trading channels are not allowed on the dark-storm |
- | network, they are a waste of our bandwidth. Any such channels found will |
- | be closed without prior notice. |
- | |
- | You have been warned! |
- | |
- | Attacks on other users, including DoS attacks and flooding will not be |
- | tolerated also channel flooding/takeovers and spamming of channels are |
- | not permitted - you will get fair warning, but will ultimately end up |
- | banned. |

- | Various channels on the network have their own rules - channel ops have |
- | the right to remove any user from a channel for whatever reason they |
- | wish, such is IRC. |
- | |
- | Network officials will not unban you from channels, so do not come to |
- | #cservice or #feds asking to be unbanned as you will be told to go away. |
- | |
- | And please remember - Use of the network is a privilege, not a right - |
- | you may be refused access to the service at the absolute discretion of |
- | the IRC Operators. |
