- The ChatFactory IRC Network was founded in July 2002 by a group of
- Belgian IT and IRC enthusiasts. Our goal was and still is to provide
- people with the friendliest and cleanest IRC network possible.

- ChatFactory maintains three distinct Policies, which can be found at
- our website (http://www.chatfactory.net) or which you can obtain as
- PDF files from any of our Network Administrators - see farther down
- for a list of the NetAdmins. The following Policy documents are

- Next to the above three Policy documents, we also offer our users the
- ChatFactory User Manual, with an elaborate listing and explanation of
- all IRC and network services commands available on the ChatFactory
- IRC Network. This manual is also available as a PDF file from any of
- our NetAdmins or viewable at our website.

- R U L E S O F C O N D U C T

- We strongly recommend that all users read our ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY
- so as to fully understand the rules of conduct on our network - rules
- that we must enforce so as to ensure a pleasant IRC experience for
- all of our users as well as to safeguard the flawless operation of our
- IRC server infrastructure.

- Please note that only three simultaneous connections per IP address or
- hostname are allowed, unless special permission to surpass this
- limitation is granted by the ChatFactory IRC Network Management. Please
- contact any of the Network Administrators to obtain this permission.

- The following is a short list with some of the things that CANNOT AND
- WILL NOT be tolerated on any of the ChatFactory servers - more infor-
- mation regarding the acceptable use of our infrastructure can be found
- in the abovementioned three Policy documents.

- - spamming, mass-messaging, harassment and/or stalking
- - pornography of any kind
- - sexual and/or other child abuse
- - racism and/or any other form of discrimination
- - political and/or religious extremism
- - mass-filesharing and/or "search & leech" IRC clients
- - distribution of illegal and/or copyrighted content
- - flood connections and/or any other form of server abuse
- - IRC proxyservers and public BNC servers
- - imposing as an IRCop, CoAdmin, Server Admin or NetAdmin
- - rude and/or inappropriate behavior and/or nicknames
- - soliciting in order to acquire IRCop status
- - threats against the network
- - sabotage or cracking of a user's computer system
- - war bots and/or war scripts

- Any violation of these rules may result in your connection being
- terminated and/or a temporary or permanent ban from any or all of
- our servers being instated against you.

- In the event that your connection has been terminated and/or a ban
- instated against you while you feel this was unjust, then please send
- us your well-documented complaint (including logs) by means of an

- network must also fully comply with our ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY and
