ParanoiaNET (Then known as ScoobyNET) was started December 1st 2000 by John Ward (devious) and Jeremy Martin (Jedi) in hopes to keep a local chat network going in the tri-state area of Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia. At the time the current local irc network was about to be closed down due to the local ISP, Zoomnet, being intergrated into Earthlink. John and Jeremy currently worked for Zoomnet in their technical suport department at the time and, with the ISP's permission, decided to start up a network, move over the users, as to keep the users locally instead of having them redirected to a large earthlink network with users scattered abroad. To our amazement it worked and we have grown since then to what we are today!
