OMGirc, which was formerly FOAMbbs, was formed by the "outcasts" of the now former Four2oh.com irc servers. One person was wrongfully glined for no apparant reason. Other users volentarily quit four2oh and needed a haven to keep in touch. Thus FOAMbbs was born. FOAMbbs was originally a Bulletin Board System with no ties to irc what-so-ever. Network operators Archangel and [_miT_] decided to make FOAMbbs this haven we all needed to keep in touch with eachother.
Later that year, the BBS was redone and two new domains were created in order for users to remember the network name without having to write it down. OMGirc and OMGbbs were created. The two sister domains now exist in harmony with the Fou2oh servers now long gone.
Ironic how that works eh? | |
