MintIRC was rebranded from Hak5IRC in late February 2008 in order to reflect our new goal of expanding the network to more communities, as well as providing a fresh, new feel to IRC. 

We realized that if we wanted to be an IRC network open to all, having the name Hak5IRC seemed to give a connotation that we were simply the home to #hak5.

We would like to welcome you to MintIRC, a newer, fresher IRC network that leaves us with that fresh tingle we love so much.
