LucidChat was founded on September 13, 2007, by several people unhappy with their now former network. The original server, nitro, is located in Texas, and also hosts services and our various bots (BOPM, Uno, Trivia..).

LucidChat got off to a quick start due to the number of people who were fed up with the previous network. They quickly followed Lucid's founders once it was set up. The owners of the PokemonCrater chat soon switched their channel over, which also helped jump start the network.

On September 21st, a new server, splinter, was added, located in Chicago, IL.

On October 9th, a third server, karma, was added for our European users, located in Stockholm, Sweden.
