JustIRC was originally the result of a merger between the Batcave and the Rootworm networks. In 2001, these two networks merged in order to provide their users with a safe, yet unmoderated chat environment; an area devoid of spam and other characteristics that plague many of the larger IRC networks. Our goal, a simple chatting community, is reflected by our name and slogan: Just IRC, no BS.

Since its formation, JustIRC has grown from one server, Batcave, to a network of servers owned and administered by individuals just like you.

Though JustIRC's life has had its ups and downs, and we have had to say goodbye to numerous servers ((Batcave, Cyclone, Deathstar, Triumphant, Forbidden, Evil) and administrators (such as Mark and Dave - two who helped put the network together from the very beginning), we have also welcomed many new faces into the JustIRC family, all of whom share one central idea; a friendly, relaxed IRC community for all (except for those who disrupt that idea).
