ItaliaIRC was born on the 22nd of September 2009 out of the need for a friendly environment, the founders of the network had experienced trouble and endless instability and arguments on the network they we're residing upon so opted to simply fork their own userbase and start up a fresh network with fresh new ideas. The network founder Salina originally was thinking of simply moving the channel to another network but then came to the concept that an overall solution which gave users as much freedom as possible would be better than simply up and moving. ItaliaIRC was initially launched around the 1st of October with the website following on the 5th and the first users coming over around the 6th - it is the goal of ItaliaIRC to simply look after the users it has with growth of the network being a secondary thought.
