Our network started in the early 2000s. We were first called iChess, a network for a chess game created by the network owner, Jesse. Since iChess, the network has gone through two religious-themed names, ChristiansOnline and Light-of-the-World. Most recently, the network was Jesterpm.net IRC, until everyone decided on calling the network InsomniaIRC. This has caused some confusion with users over the theme of the network - The name suggests that our network is for sufferers of the medical condition Insomnia. This is not the case, although people suffering from this condition are welcome.

While it may seem like the popularity of IRC is declining, our future plans are to keep the network running for as long as possible.
