IRCStorm is the continuation of IRChat.tv via a network name change. It is virtually the same network with the addition of a few new services and upgrades as well as a website facelift. Below is the original history posted by one of the network's primary founders, Myles.

IRChat.tv started because we (the founding admins) wanted a place to get away from the our former network who had sort of a dictatorship system of IRC. We started up the network and in months had chatters coming to us. We eventually ran a java chat server and since then we've been booming. We pride ourselves on listening to users and letting them manage their own channels.
