IRC Hispano began at the end of 1995, thanks to three ISPs: Conexis, EncomIX and Lleida.net
A full crew of network Ops joined the network to help users and the network Administration.
At 1997 the first official bot is developed and implemented, it is called ArgoBot and his creator is jcea.
The network grows fast and problems start to arise in within the network nodes. The end of 1998 brings a split on the network, Arrakis, the main node on that time is left alone on the network and IRC Hispano is created as we know it now. New bots, new services, and a more user friendly approach are the new signs of this change.
After a time Arrakis is invited to the new network and accepts. June the 22th IRC Hispano is legally registered as a non-profit association.
From them to nowadays it has growing. It has become one of the top ten largest networks on the world.
