Eu-irc was created on June 21, 2003 by Atraxs, b0x, cf, Solaris and Yougli. The merger of five networks- three french IRC networks (chat-fr, fantasy-irc and uncreation.org), a swiss IRC network (sNE) and a german IRC network (IRCFreak) - allowed Eu-irc to start off with 2500 users.
