Chat Cartel Internet Relay Chat Network opened its doors on May 2, 2006. It started as one server with no services, as it was just a place for a few friends to talk privately after one of the founders had been unfairly banned from a now defunct network.
Over the first few months, Chat Cartel went through several server moves as one hosting provider lacked support and another went out of business after only a month, before finding the current host and becoming a stable network. Chat Cartel gained a few more chat friends and the network expanded to include another server and services to better serve the users.
