Thats ok, the grapevine tells me that several very experienced coders are going to ensure that inspircd wont be what the hype leads everyone to think.

I wouldn't count Unreal as dead just yet, several other packages have gone as long or longer without any progress.

Epona went 2 years with no activity at all and *POOF* completely re-written with live SQL, Anope isn't far off. It's been 8 months since the last development release, yet there are about 40 lines of fixes in svn with 1.8 stable closer than ever.

So just because you don't see anything, done't mean it's not happening.

I'd rather like to see it somehow a bit later than scheduled than having a very bugging 3.2.8.

Unreal is not dead, technically.

I can't speak for 'Unreal 4.0' as it has seemingly stalled a bit, however 3.3 is still in development and technical specifications stage, of which a 'Commit' is not going to be made to for quite a time because its no longer a 3.2 'Update/Recode', its basically branched off into a complete from-scratch idea and an attempt to try and take some new standards into play, full ISUPPORT implementation, CAPAB, and yes 3.3 will be implementing some ideas of InspIRCd (Same-port SSL, a more manageable oper system) amongst many other things.

Also to note, I can't speak for 3.2.8 either, though Syzop has recently made some patch fixes to it, so he might have a release for it planned soon.

Just keep an eye on the site, still trying to finish up all the tech specs for the features and server<->server crap, when I do I'll at least announce that with full information on the entire 3.3 gameplan.

Is it so hard not to post in any topic regarding UnrealIRCd, InspIRCd or any other software you think is childish? I'm getting a bit sick off it now.

You of course are entitled to your opinion, but if you think things are so shoddy, then shove it and make your own, or if you think you're that damn good, you're free to come work on Unreal : P

The situation you describe is impossible... guerin only has 512MB of virtual memory (RAM+Swap) period.

Code:
nenolod@guerin:~$ free -m
total       used       free     shared    buffers     cached
Mem:           256        230         25          0         31         71
-/+ buffers/cache:        126        129
Swap:          255         39        216

Yes, we were having a memory leak, and on other servers it was that bad, but not on guerin. (guerin, however, kept being OOM killed a lot more than the other servers).
