FreshMeet IRC seeks to integrate IRC, it's website and services, jabber/instant messaging, psyc, IRC/web gaming, and much more. We have a long-term plan and long-term goals, some of which are already met; chatters may chat from the website via a mibbit applet (soon to be authorized with mibbit), or via their favourite IRC client... and some time next week, they may also chat via a psyc client or even on our soon-to-be-launched psyc server.
We plan to add IM support, web cam chat on the same domain, and create a fully customized services package in the future. We not only need chatters, but people willing to be part of a new IRC community prepared to embrace the future of IRC and user interactivity.
We have no head admin. Instead, we have a committee of server owners, running servers in the UK, Netherlands, Canada, and United States. We have a routing committee to oversee new linking. We are prepared to listen to what our users want, and, within reason, do our level best to provide it.
Geeks, freaks, and even the wholesome and mundane are welcome to come see what we have to offer.
