irc.exilenet.org
We need US and Non-US links, preferably with users.
We will not join your network or run your ircd so don't ask.
Nefarious IRCu ircd ONLY!
If you are willing to change to nefarious, come talk to us. |

I dropped by this small and quiet network and found they are running the same ircd/services we are, except ours is patched against several bugs and we have activated several features in the code that they haven't.
Anyway, I went there to talk to an admin about the possibility linking with our larger network. I never said what I wanted an admin for, nor was I given the chance. My connection was suddenly dropped and when I reconnected, it was blamed on a netsplit .. I'm not that stupid Nor did I ever get an answer from or about how to talk to an admin.
At any rate, I spot checked 4 of their servers and found 2 running on home or business class cable/xDSL accounts.
In short I went to see if they would be interested in linking to a like minded network and to use our less buggy, more feature rich software only to find the total lack of respect for stangers commonly found on most small, inexperienced staff run networks. |

No one gave you any disrespect. You were seeking trouble obviously and were part of the morons who attacked our network without warrant. Obviously it was you who crashed a server of ours just because you knew of a bug in the software that was undisclosed to the coders. SO any reader of your post can easily conclude you are unethical for not only attacking us without warrant but also for not disclosing a bug in the software to the programmers. Your mention of the bug is pretty much an admission of guilt.
Also, anyone can conclude by the snooty tone of your post that you are a compete jerk and immature oper.
Thanks for showing everyone here how unethical you are.
BTW, running multiple ircds on same boxes to make your network look larger is pretty lame |

Man, don't you have your lines crossed ... I started using IRC in 1995 and to date have never attacked anyone. I've been called many, many things and accused of a lot of stuff but congratulations .. you've taken the cake!!
I come to you to see if you wanted to upgrade away from the bugs, not come exploit or taunt you. I'm many things, but not that kind of person. I've likely given back to the IRC community a lot more than you ever will and I don't mean in attacks. I mean in voluntary end-user support I've participated in a number of projects in official and unofficial roles helping admins set-up their network. It's not in my nature to attack you.
As you admitted to being attacked, that would explain my sudden disconnects *AND* proves that my statement that it wasn't net splits was correct.
you are welcome to 3 things:
1> believe what you want (because you will anyway).
2> prove that I attacked you.
3> come by my network and continue this conversation. irc.collectiveirc.net
When you're done attacking my character please do #3 and learn who I *REALLY* am. I'll definitely surprise you and if you are polite I just might see about patches for those bugs. I was on your network to offer a merge so that both of our nets can benefit from each other and despite the miss understanding that offer is still open. I only ask that you visit us first before making a decision. We don't do the typical merges. So please don't prejudge us as I apparently did to you.
As for being a jerk, perhaps. I've always said that everyone is a jackass to someone. that means that no matter how nice a person you are, someone .. somewhere on this planet will dislike you. It's unavoidable.
Being a nice guy though I'll take back the "lack of respect" statement as it's possible that what ever attack you speak of is likely what kept disconnecting me and not childish immature kiddie opers as I originally assumed. I'll also apologize for assuming your staff a immature, but only if you understand it's because out of thousands of other tiny networks who truly DO have immature opers that will disconnect you for asking a few questions. |

Aye, glad it worked out. Collectiveirc.net is a fine network and I added a server to their map for testing. talks are in progress for a merger with no promises. However it works out, I think we can all remain friends. |
