|
|
I swear, what pisses me off more than anything is when a user joins a network and they leave after 5-10 minutes of asking for you.
I am an admistrator for the SouthChat IRC Network and ive had several people over the last few days come and ask for me and by the time i get there, they are gone!
STAY STAY STAY
And if anyone that has visited sees this, im not pissed off at you, it just agrivates me cause i want to talk to you lol
You may also send me a private message on here or email me.
Thanks,

Perhaps there is something about you/your net that causes users to form a negative opinion about you/your net in less than 5 minutes?
It can be caused by anything, your welcome message, your ircd, lack of users, your services package, a configuration setting .... etc. It can also be something that you are NOT doing.
As an example. If I find a net that uses forced join .. I leave instantly. I can't stand forced join. To me it's a sign of nazi opers/admins that can't even grant me the freedom to choose what channels I want to enjoy. |

No there is no forced join, the only thing is the lack of users which is what i am trying to change at the moment. Hence the reasons for my post.

| This seems to be something that is part of having an irc network. It's going to happen alot, big or small. Sometimes users just log on to see perhaps what channels or how many people are there and because it's a smaller network, log off. Could also be as was stated by katsklaw something that puts users off, who knows. I try to keep a civil network channel for that reason, seeing as how that's usually a first impression of a network. Unfrotunately though, you must deal with this as part of the life of what you're doing. |

I find most people join a network channel and if no one has said hello with in 30secs of them getting there they are gone , I'll admit ive done it myself when i first started using IRC, now i tend to stick around as long as i can and enjoy having a chat with the people thats there. |
