kinda n00b here. can't connect. gives me:
Unable to connect (Unable to resolve server)
help appreciated. WINXP user. |

The server you may be trying to connect to might be down. Try connecting to irc.SummitIRC.com port 6667
You can also try a java applet here that should work: http://www.avpod.net/livechat.html
Let me know if these dont work. |

Same thing, it means the server you are trying to connect to is refusing connections. Try another server on that network. |

| check the DNS settings for your connection (be it dial-up, ethernet, whatever) and make sure you can contact the servers listed (a simple ping should suffice) |

most of the time when i get that, i cant even connect to the internet. most likey the DNS to the servers are not correct. |
