Im working on a site that will be sorta like shellsearch where people can search and leave comments about hosts. Im planning on having better info then acky though. What type of info do YOU look for in a host? The current plan I have it for:
* Packages
* Features
* Server's physical location (Datacenter/city/state/country/etc)
* Contact Email
* Cost for any extras
* User ratings
* User reviews
* Allow providers to put any specials |

Exactly. ATM when I do a search on acky most of the sites are now dead links. I plan to make all the info manually validated, as well as having the site check if the site is up daily via a cron job, and if its not up, it wont show in search results that day unless its a search exactly on the host's name. |

Best wishes to p44chris, I like the idea!
Will be a pile of work to do, but when I was looking for shells, I was unhappy with most of the rather poor attempts I found. Mostly, I'd be interested in serious user ratings / reviews instead of piles of spam.
Best would be unbiased, independent reviews of course, but... I know I know. Keep on dreaming, Blue  |
