| I saw that my network is listed in your Network list, and I was wondering if there was some way I could login or something to customize my network's information as opposed to the general information submittion box. Thanks. |

Hi Ganja51,
When we were setting up the network sites, Jason and I discussed letting each network control their own pages, much like each channel owner has full control over their MyChannel site. With close to 700 networks (and more coming every day) it sure would save us a lot of work. But on further thought, it just wasn't a good idea.
Why? Because to be fair we would have to give access to every admin, on every network, and even though MOST admins are truly awesome people, some are... well... just plain whacky.
You know those "Kids say the Darndest Things" books? I sift through my email in the morning, cutting and pasting excellent information from network PR people, opers and admins... and then I come across "our network is the ONLY network with NickServ"... uh. not. And, "With 50,000 registered users, we run the largest Chat site in the world" when in reality its a java chat network with 4 channels and 106 users. Some don't want the "type" of people who go to IRC networks (which makes me wonder why they would open an IRC network in the first place). One admin, who wrote like he was 12, declared his network supported illegal activities. I certainly hope he IS 12, because if he isn't, he needs to invest in some good legal advice.
It goes on and on...
So as much as we would gladly give up this job and let admins take over their network pages, its better to just submit the info on our forms or through email. We promise to do the best we can to make sure your network pages are accurate, complete, and reflect the spirit of your network. |

| I just wanted to agree with what mregit said -- the reason why things are setup the way they are, is so that there is consistancy with the data about each network. |
