Help SearchIRC build a LIVE CHANNEL DIRECTORY!
Ever wish you could browse a list of channels about the same subject? You're not alone. SearchIRC has received hundreds of requests for a channel directory from users. Now, its here.
Our channel directory is something entirely NEW. SearchIRC's Channel Directory is LIVE, its DYNAMIC, its CURRENT! But it can't happen without your help.
If you have a website, you know the importance of submitting your url to web search engines. SearchIRC needs channel owners to submit their channel to SearchIRC, and tell us where it belongs in our directory.
Its simple. All you need to do is:
1) Register on SearchIRC. Fill in your username, give us an email addy, and a password. We don't sell email addys to spam lists or use it for marketing or anything like that. We just need a valid email so we can contact you if there is a problem with your MyChannel.
2) Sign up for MyChannel. MyChannel is FREE. You get space to tell people about your channel, a message board, channel stats, and a java client. If you don't want any of that, don't use it - just fill out the top section where you set the category and give a description for your channel.
The way we insure channels in our directory database are active is to compare them with our live channel list. Once you submit your channel, as long as we gather data from your network, and your channel appears in /list and has users, it will appear in our channel directory.
Admins, be sure to submit your help channels, network channel, server channels, any game or radio channels your network sponsors! There's no limit - submit as many active channels as your network hosts! |
