Well, I guess I should speak on this IRCd, since there isnt a thread for it anywhere else.

This is an open source IRCd which is powerful, small, and lightweight. Powerful enough for Rizon to run a modified version of it (bandwidth saving optimization version, pleXus). ShadowIRCd is designed for large networks, but is amazingly efficient with even the smallest networks.

ShadowIRCd is testing with a WIN32 version currently. While it does work, it is highly not recommended unless you use it for testing purpouses. However, the Linux/Unix version is very good, and very reliable. If you run an IRC network that is growing, and you are running Unreal, you might want to try ShadowIRCd. UnrealIRCd is good for small networks, but not very good for large networks.

animesoup, you might want to mention that the current versions of Shadow are based on a version of Hybrid that has a lot of bugs. Confused

I realize this post will probably deter a few people, which I don't like considering I'm in its credits, but I think it's better to keep them from messing up their networks. Very Happy

Anyway, the next major version of ShadowIRCd should be much more stable and bug-free. Razz

While it is coming along nicely, it is beta software.
