Protection from DoS? secure servers (syncookies, secure system setup) with lots of bandwith (colos), not getting into pointless fights with packet kiddies, and luck.
Other security? Anope + NeoStats(+SecureServ, +opsb) || bopm(server)
Good opers...... well trained. And clueful server admins.
That's my theory at least.

Keeping a eye on your ircops and users is the best way. And not getting into stupid arguements with packet-kiddies as has been stated before.
I can't belive once i got accused of packeting someone's server! I was soo mad, talking to me like i was down to their level! |

hmm...Any One Know about DDoS Scanner found on sourgeforge.net
is it works?
EvilBot,LitmasBot ..some of this common types of bot is really eizi to detect.
But now days so many new way allready rised to do that nasty work.
I Am a protection freak..lolzz so looking for Sggetions,coments,help...warmaly wellcome.

If you did your job when selecting ircops, it shouldnt be a problem really..
Beeing a ircop is kinda like beeing granted the most inner holy trust of the netadmins (or something less cheesy  ) |
