I haven't, but this is because I have a girlfriend locally :O)
BUT... Not saying it doesn't happen, because I am extremely positive it does. People meet on the internet and fall in love all the time and end up together for a long time. Great way to get to know people globally, if you are a people person of course.

speaking from experience...yeah, it's possible! Does it always work out? (speaking from experience) nup!
Worked out for me for a while...things were all looking good, but i spose it wasn't meant to be, which was a shame actually...cos now i wonder about what might have been (mind u, that was like in Jan this year....so there's a lot of hours of wondering!!! hahaha)
But, such is life...

myself met a girl in the street, a mate of mine knew her irc nick so I contacted her in irc, we decided to meet 'n thats 4,5 years ago, we're still together today :p
so a combination of RL and IRC is also possible  |

Fair and valid point!
I just suppose in my case of wondering what could have been, it's bugging me more so, because I never really got to give it a go with this person to see how it would have been!
Unlike in real life when it doesn't work, at least then u've spent time with that person face to face....u get what I'm saying?

not at all .. I'm quite happy with my relationship. Just can't see the point of this forum .. I mean having a forum called "Can you REALLY find a mate in real life?" would yeild just as much conversation and feedback as this one ... some will agree ... some not ... |

Well, not necessarily. Just that most of my experiences in general have been bad... so I'm kinda jaded. (at 17?!)
I'm far to shy, so... that probably doesnt exactly help my case any. |
