As of 5/12/04, i must warn people of a small chat server called irc.tampachat.net, their staff are rude, and the owners wife is a self
centered, unfriendly person. they will try and change your network immediatly and take over things espically when the run fine. beware of this server they are nothing but trouble. |

I really thought maniac was a good kid, but his opers and his wife made him turn into a not so nice guy. He and I got along just fine, it was his oper that since day one of the link came into network channls saying "this place sucks, I'd rather be on efnet, Im only here for dave and Erin" I guess he should have been removed that day, but I give everybody chances. Well all this kept up along with Erin (Maniacs wife) being about as antisocial as they come. Refused to make friends with any of us and sit alone in her room, which was fine, her perogative, but dont tell me that nobody gave her a chance, cuz we all did.
I do warn you all of this server if you are thinking about linking/merging with them. They will cause you all the same trouble as they did me. I hope they figure out what IRC is really about, fun and friendships and not controlling and unfriendlyness. By all means, if you have any further questons, join irc.webchatting.com and look for me or Bella, we'll be happy to answer any of your questions. |

[taken from his motd]
--- - Server/Network Information:
--- -
--- - This server is co-located and hosted at a secure site in
--- - Phoenix , AZ on the LimeLight network
--- - It is running FreeBSD 5.1 and UnrealIRCD 3.2 (stable)
--- - on a dual OC-48 connection x gigabit ethernet
--- - and is capable of handling 65,536 users.
[/snip]
--> You are now talking on #webchatting
> Your server is not on a dual OC-48 connection.
> 65k users? I highly doubt. Unreal tends to core after 1000.
> Your IRCd is not on Limelight networks, it's on aggressive hosting, who will at max have a 100mbit connection to the internet.
> Limelight is your providers, provider.

The Network is far from dead maybe you should have taken more time to look around,
ps. the network is not just a warez.
The Network warez channels maybe have the most users but there are alot more smaller channels with normal chatters starting every day

| Not to stir the pot, but after many years of network and server adminmistration, I can tell you its not the warez, or the files, or any of the other illegal activity thats sucks. It is the users. I've hosted everything from BBS sites from the very early eighties, to todays ridiculous forums, blogs, and ircd servers. It's not the product, the topic, or the medium that ruins smooth sailing - its human nature. |
