|
|
Hello world!
Anybody knows any java software like EIRC to use on web to connet to any server and not only on local server like EIRC requires.
Altough I know that you can do something complicated that EIRC connects to other servers than the localy one.
The features and options (graphic) are really enhanced if you compare them with for ex. JIRC java applet.
Any ideas :?: Thanks |

I have found PJIRC to be one of the best Java IRC Clients out there. It is very customizable. Check out www.pjirc.com.
Also, I believe in EIRC, if you put the .CAB and .JAR files on the local IRC server - you can make it connect to that server. Or of course you can digitally sign the applet. |

| We use jpilot currently on SearchIRC. Mostly because it's so fast in loading compared to other java applets. It is around 1/2 the size of others. On the other hand, the applet isn't very fancy, doesn't support stuff like DCC, and costs around $50. |

If you are using PostNuke there is a very nice new add on called pnCopilot v2.0
The release says:
pnCopilot is a Postnuke module that uses the jPilot java applet to integrate IRC chat right into your website. Version 2.0 builds on the great work by Drew Jones and adds initial theme integration, auto-login of channel ops, License-key integration, and a SearchIRC block to show channel stats. It works 'out of the box'! The best IRC chat module available.
The add on is available on: http://www.pnaddons.com/Article44.phtml
You can see a demo on: http://www.superchat.ws/ |
