| It may be usefull seeing the channel modes on searchIRC. for ex. some people wouldn't want to visit a channel which is moderated or no-colour. |

that would require them to do a /mode on every channel listed...
not exactly feasible is it? |

It's not possible. At least not right now.
We're using publicly available info, and channel modes are not included in /list.
Some networks prefix the channel topic with the channel modes, if all networks started doing that, I could make use of it...
Manually doing /mode #channel for each of the 600,000+ channels we index, would literally take forever. Also keep in mind there are flood limits, so each command would need to be delayed 1-2 seconds to prevent flooding off. I have serious doubts that knowing the channel mode is important enough to dedicate so much resources .. |

actually Unreal does send the channel modes in a /list...
sample entry in the list:

as you can see... the modes are +ntr ... unfortunately it doesnt send the mode parameters
