Heh, there's truth in that - for many people, not for everyone, but for many.
Personally, I'm extremely weird, nerdy, homosexual and I've had several real life offers of intimacy from people I've known on IRC (only after meeting them IRL many times though, I have never and will never "cyber").
This possibility of love/sex/whatever on IRC doesn't matter much to me though, as I'm trying for celibacy until I reach 25 and have a stable job/home/etc.
Yeah, most irc love is shallow and pretty pointless, but some of it is good.
Some social channels certainly beat a few bars I know of!
If we don't (need for/care about) it, then why not let the people have their fun?  |

| Love on IRC is very hard to find but it can be found and can be great, i know a few people that have found true love on IRC and are living happily together, i think it's awsome people can do that! |
