New IRC Network Admins PLEASE READ!!

Not a day goes by that someone doesn't annouce they have a "new net", this is all well and good. It shows that people have a dream about what an IRC Network should be like. I'm not so naive to think that there aren't people that starts a network just so they can be a net admin or to feel the surge of power that comes with it. However, I refuse to believe that every new net admin is that way.

My suggestion is but a humble one, but may help you find that "perfect network". You should seek out other new nets and see if you share the same vision and direction. If you do, try to combine your efforts and share the workload. Being a Net Admin isn't that easy, especially if you want to be successful and grow.

Example:

If 3 net admins do this and find others, then you now have 3 people after the same goal and each person needs only to do 1/3 of the work! Just imagine if each of those 3 admins had 2 users. Just like magic, you'd now have 6!

I personaly have been on IRC for nearly a decade and have been in various admin positions throughout most of that time and I just now started my own net because I haven't found anyone else that shares my views, BUT I haven't stopped looking for others like me. I'm an "old school" oper with old school views that has embraced modern IRC technology. I'm not suggesting that you wait a decade as I did. I only request that you at least look around. Visit some of the other new nets. You might be surprised to find that there are more people like you than you think!
