Some fairly big changes have happened with the Chat Directory (found on the front page of SearchIRC).
Here is the rundown:
1) You no longer need a MyChannel to get into the directory. Rather than require a MyChannel for each channel that wants in the Directory, we've now completely separated the two.
2) You no longer need a login to get into the directory either.
3) To submit a channel, simply go to the directory you wish to add a channel to, and click on the "Add channel" link found on the top right of each directory page. From there, simply select the network and channel you wish to add, and add in a description.
All in all, this should really help make the Chat Directory grow -- anyone can submit info, and since there is a review process in place, there is a little more editorial control, preventing channels from being listed in the wrong category. |
