For the 5 months i was gone, it got less active like everyone month and now no one is posting things just to get this place back to life, Surprised at Pingbad and the rest of the posting gods they havent dont this, so maybe you will read this message and will get up and start posting, and go crazy posting  Atleast Mary and Jason are keeping the place up otherwise it wouldnt be here but heh, Hope you guys wake up and smell the air and get posting > |

And what's to post, i've done my dash for the most part (put it this way: in the heydey of my post whoring days, my Posts Per Day easily cracked 4.0, now i'm barely scathing 2.0) |

I know this post is old, but I just thought I would comment.
It's really sad that IRC is slowly dying, I ran my own server about 5 years ago, had a blast doing it. Had lots of users, had lots of attacks, it was true excitement. But eventually I got married and such, didn't have time for IRC much less computers. But even during the time I wasn't on IRC I did know that IRC was dying out, even way back when I knew it. It's not dead yet, but it's slowly declining. Like others have said, people use Instant messenger these days or things like facebook and myspace. It's something that is just a plain fact.
Over ten years ago, when I started to use the internet, IRC was the big thing, if you wanted to talk to people, you hopped on IRC and there was glorious amounts of networks and channels. Oh the excitement and fascination was wonderful. I used to lose sleep over the fact that I might be missing out on some awesome conversation. You know what I'm talking about! But anyways, IRC is losing the fight fast, people were using it for downloads and such a couple years ago (they still do) but with TORRENTS, IRC is no longer THE place to get your favorite downloads from. It's quite sad really, I miss the good old days... |
