do you think its fair for a server to threaten there chatters with a gline if they go chat on another certain server ?

the nicks was x out for security of there nicks

Well obviously it isn't fair, and the administrator issuing the glines will suffer severe user losses if he continues with this ridiculous policy. It's up to the users what servers they want to go to, no network administrator can force any user to go to a certain net, it's the users choice.

people like this are pathetic small little people who should not be in charge of their own bodily functions, let alone an irc server.

sadly it seems that any monkey with $5.00 can get a shell and start one these days however.

But at the end of the day you have no right to use any IRC network so whether it's fair or not really doesn't matter to the networks who do it. All you can do is chat somewhere else instead. As stated the only people who stand to lose from making such threats is the networks who make them. There are plenty of other IRC networks that apply no such restrictions. So if you find yourself at the receiving end of such a threat, my advice to you is to simply leave.

Any real Owner/Admin of a Ircd server that knows anything would do that or allow it on there network. If that was the case you wouldn't have other networks share channels via Janus.

I think whoever is gline people for chat on other networks needs a good lesson on how to be friendly = 1 sock = 3 bars of soap = A beat down.
