| seems to me networks will only take a server with users. 10 to 1 says their shell/box is probally more stable then your own server |

| Everyone makes the comment, "noone will link a server with no users" . what seems to be the problem with that? nearly 99% of all server owners that post here, have less than 100 chatters on the actual network itself. most are composed of probably 2 or 4 small servers linked together, thus each server usually having between 20-40 users a piece. why would a network want to add a server with nothing on it, other than... " a server" having a network with no people on it, and adding more servers is not needed, so what's the drama with saying no all about? |

Your observation is the exact reason.
There are only a few real reasons to add a server:
1> you don't have one in that part of the world.
2> redundancy.
3> you have reached or are nearing your population limit.
4> you're adding a better, faster server as a dedicated hub.
Notice I didn't say anything about adding a server just so the incoming admin can have an O:Line? Yet that's why most people link, so they can have an O:Line on a network that has users. Think about it, oper on a net with 0-5 users or oper on a net with 200 users. Which do you honestly think a newer admin will want to link to? Of course the latter, which is why established nets are raising such a fuss, that's why they say it, that's why the drama.

eye are see dot infinitirc dot net it's hosted on mah dedi. it's in Houston texas , the other servers on the network ( seeing how it's a network not a server ) are hosted in canada, uk, south america, and cali  |
