True pingbad. Forgot the part where you became part of the forum staff. It's really interesting when one stops to reflect on SearchIrc and how people have changed and progressed. |

While I am glad to see that some grow and mature, there are those who will be prone to remain as they are, or de-evolve from what they once were. I've had the pleasure, fortunate or unfortunate, to witness both sides of this on numerous occasions. There is one person whom I consider a pretty close friend, despite it being a friendship that has existed only on the internet, who I've seen evolve alot. I don't remember my own age but he was only fifteen or sixteen at the time, and was very knowledgable in the art of compromises and exploitation. He is now 25 working a full time job, and will be married soon.
There's so many people that I have met through my travels in not just Mirc, but other places such as games, and voice/chat programs, it's really quite unbelievable to think about the history and events I've seen and been involved in. It dosen't matter whether you are a person who uses the internet alot, or just surfs on a more ocasional whim, it's going to affect you in ways you may not realize until it's five or ten years later. |
