Right, well, I've used irc for years, but at one point my real life obligations got in my way of being quite as active as I would have liked, so I resigned my positions as a helpop and network admin that I held at that time, as I didn't think it would be fair of me to be so inactive.
But anyway, a few months ago things changed and I suddenly had way to much free time. What better way to get rid of some of that than going back to the thing that use to consume all my time, I thought. Since then I've been trying to get back into my old networks, but as I expected they're nothing the same. Some don't even exist anymore. I picked up a couple staff positions on networks since then, but none of them worked out. All but one because of terrible power abuse coming from admins, the other fell due to the owner losing his job and thus his way to actually keep the server running. But that's really beside the point, so I'll get to it.
What I can offer:
-Activity. Being active in the official help channel, being active as an IRCop, and being active as a user as well. Also, I know some look for their opers to be connected pretty much constantly, this I can do.
-Knowledge. I've been a member of alot of networks at one time or the other and I have a very good idea as to what users look for in a network, and I can help them see it in yours. I know the ins and outs of all the general services.(Such as chan/nick/host/bot/memo/help)
-Experience. As a helpop I have quite a bit of experience. I've been one on about a half dozen networks, ranging from the dozens of users range to the tens of thousands. I've been a Local/Global IRCop thrice and a netadmin twice, and have a great understanding of commands. The network that I IRCop'd on with the highest user count had about two hundread unique users a day. I have experience with Anope/Unreal/insp but I'm a quick study and am willing to learn something new if you wish. Oh, and I've had countless moderator positions on forums if you have one.
I'm generally on for about nine hours a day, from the evening until the early morning. (GMT -5)
Additionally, I would like to say that I don't want a job as an IRCop just so I can have power or the like, I want to be a real part of the network as far as interaction with other users and such is concerned aswell.
User base isn't extremely important at this point, just as long as the network is growing. There is two things that I do not want, though. A network with, say, half as many IRCops as users, or a network full of bots.
Edit: Right, contact information. Well, you could PM me here, post in the thread, or email me at ToumenDoki(at)gmail(dot)com(Replaced @ and . to avoid spam). |

You might want to try irc.exilenet.org. They are a good bunch of people that are not power hungry.
ExileNet is NOT my network, nor am I affiliated with them at all by any means, that said you should know I can't and won't claim that you would become an IRCop there. What I am saying is that they seem to be the type of net you are looking for. |

Brings a warm fuzzy feeling to me heart, it really does |

| I can vouch for Exilenet being a nice friendly network, where you can have fun (in a non-abusive way). |

ExileNet and CollectiveIRC have alot in common. We currently don't really need any staff so I mentioned ExileNet. |

I agree with Pingbad on this and applaud this show of support shown. Most networks and people are alot more focused on tearing each other down. It's nice to know that there are still some upstanding more mature views and actions that happen out there in the area of Mirc. These days, there dosen't seem to be a whole lot of that going on, which isn't good for the perception of Mirc in general.
Good luck with your search for a position, I hope that you find what you are looking for. |
