I'm just curious as to why my network disappeared from SearchIRC.
It's no longer accessible via http://www.searchirc.com/network/WikkedWire
I thought you didn't delete networks? Did it somehow get 'purged'? |

We do not remove networks, but we did have a server crash a few days ago, and the db got corrupted. It looks like your network record was damaged when the db was recovered.
If you resubmit it, I can approve it so it's back. |

| hrm, just a suggestion, but why not convert your network table from myisam to innodb? Personal experience (and recommendations from database intensive projects such as MediaWiki) show that InnoDB tables are much less susceptible to corruption. |

Any network that is missing needs to be resubmitted. :(
If the server crashes and there are db issues, I restore from the last good database backup. With this situation, I wasn't aware of the problem till it was too far gone - going to a backup would mean losing recent data.
SearchIRC has been running for almost 10 years now, and this is not something we deal with often. |
