ServerList purge

Hi,

Have you ever thought of purging the server lists of the different network.

I looked through irchighway's list and half those server don't even exist anymore. Now I know we keep our server list hidden from the public and it doesnt matter what servername you try to connect to since it would lead you straight to our dns anyway. But my point is could you put like a status message or delete a server that the crawler have been unable to connect to for example for a year?

The server list is for informational use. For networks that don't share a common domain name, it can be quite useful if you used to visit "irc.whatever.com" and don't know the name of the network.

We can purge the server list if needed, but generally we just collect servers and when not listed in the current /links, it goes into 'previously seen'

like you linked a server that had the name misspelled and now have it linked correctly and want to get rid of the old one that is no longer correct... Very Happy

Though I'm certain he could see with which network my nick is associated with Wink

That might give him somewhere to start Very Happy
