darkrose, your problem may be your expectations from IRC networks. If you are looking for a network to supply users and interest in your channel, you will be disappointed. That's not usually their function.

The majority of IRC networks look for channels with an established userbase to fill the network, not vice versa.

That's not to say you won't find plenty of offers to set up on a network and then they will help with users. There are many eager admins who would love to have an active channel such as yours. But realistically, your goal should be growing your own userbase rather than trying to find a network to do it for you.

I must agree. The smaller networks are interested mainly in boosting their own numbers.

This is why I recommended a while back that you may find better luck setting up on a larger network. Like just for an example DALnet, which has 35,000-40,000 potential listeners already. Such a network doesn't need your listeners as they already have alot of users and for you that would give your channel exposure to the 35k-40k users present to expand your own user base.

I also must admit that it is kinda foolish to think you could set-up on a tiny < 200 user network and expect many listeners. After all the network staff can't force anyone to listen to your broadcast even if they wanted to. Think about all the millions of viewers there are on public TV. The expected new customer turn out on the average commercial is extremely low, so basicly you have to saturate the airwaves over and over again for you to get a fair amount of customers in return. I see IRC as no different.

There are IRC networks that advertise here over and over again and barely get any users at all and of the few users they do get, less than half would stay to become regulars and this site has 30k+ users.

At any rate, good luck with your search.
