First, thank you Mary for fixing this thread. It got out of hand.

Second, can we please keep on-topic.

Hi All.

I have a Dedicated Server, located in Michigan/USA. I was wondering if there's any networks in need of an IRCd, I've looked around on here and was unable to find a recent posting.

I recently posted the specs of my system, which only caused people with the small man syndrome; 'Mine's bigger than yours!', so this time I won't bother.

I am looking to help a network, by bringing in a server or two, and help with timezone differences. I am not a coder by any stretch of the imagination, however I personally work in customer service, so there's a bonus there for helping people with issues [eg: in #Help].

I would like to put some of my spare time to good use, rather than sitting at a blank computer screen watching the hours roll past.

You can contact me by email; marc@supernerd.com.au or by PM on these boards, or by posting under this thread.

Thank you for your time.

It might be a good idea finding a network that you would like to link to and using their link application process - It's unlikely that the majority of users who will post here actually need a dedicated server for their network. If I was you I'd target the networks ranked from #10-#20.

Just my opinion though.

Yep it's the one n only, mouselike.

Drop us an email, or set up an ircd and I'll come chat to you there, else, irc.chatden.net which is more of a den than a chatden, is setup. It's running an older style IRCu though Wink

No - you are probably klined from the uk server, for broken or disabled identd.

The UK server REQUIRES identd, as it isn't capable of running the authentication daemon that runs along side the server normally. In the kline reason is a URL explaining the situation, because there's only so much you can fit into a kline reason;)

If you don't *want* to run identd, or *can't*; /server noident.chatden.net

Sorry for the inconvenience.

The reason why he runs the auth is because of some people have been loading floodbots so he took the precaution and loaded some security mesaures Smile.. On the other note marc, good job on the server Smile
