There is really no way to meet a mate on IRC, because half the time you have these egocentric people with power complexes, going off and banning people to get there hojos off.

As for the excuse you came up with, i find that utter bull crap for an excuse as to why you cant find love on IRC.

You may be right that I can't find love on IRC, but then again, that's because I already have a girlfriend, and I sure as hell didn't meet her off of IRC.

Well yes it does depend on the maturity of the channel; as well as the sinserity of the people involved. Remember that with any form of chat relationship chat, and email, is all you have. I met my wife on chat, it was firetalk not irc, but that was realtime voice chat. I have been married nearly 7 years and things are still going strong.
