Here's an article written by Joe showing the chaotic events that can happen on an IRC network, and my huge overraction.
Monday September 18th 2006 started out like any regular day on the Slacked IRC Network. Users were chatting amongst each other, but at 00:14 suspicious bots began connecting to Slacked's servers. However the network wasn't prepared for what happened next. |

| Whoa thats messed up my advice is to give training to your opers that are not sure! or take away things like that till there ready for it |

| It was an honest mistake, but we're taking precautions to make sure it won't be able to happen again. As for oper training, theres only a couple of opers and they are very experienced, although this one is rather new. Quite honestly, who here hasn't banned an entire network? I know I have. |

| maybe there should be some kind of error checking in the comand to make sure you input a numeric ip address and not a alphanumeric host ? |

I happened to be offline at the time but when I came on and shadow told me, as sorry as I felt for him, you just have to laugh.
Even i've done stupid things like that before.

| Ouch. That had to suck for both parties. Ya really can't help but laugh in a way. I've seen someone do that on accident just because they were trying SO hard. I couldn't really get too mad, even though I started out pretty pissed. You live, you learn. |

I think most admins would feel like that  , luckly for me my opers and I have never done any thing like that *figers crossed*, but your right I laughed at first then put myself in Shadow16's position and was pissed my self. |
