yesterday i was watching the news the un general (italian originaly) was asking the EU javier solana to put pressure on israel to respect the latest resolution. because they are messing around like joining parting the territory or flying the airspace or water space and i dono how to say it in english they use sounds bombs in the sky...

let us just hope israel will calm down and respect the resolutions and quit the shebaa farms, because aslong this land is conquered, there wont be peace between the two countries... and hazballa wont desrm.. so lets hope..

im just worried, i feel its not over, and the christians are in a very bad position. like never been before

Stefano, UN Security Council Resolution 1701 says:

Quote:
The [Lebanese] Government, acting through its regular Armed Forces and police, must be able to assert its authority throughout the country and on all its borders, particularly to prevent illegal and destabilizing arms flows, he said. Only when there was one authority, and one gun, would there be a chance of lasting stability. That implied, of course, a full and swift Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory. “We now have a clear scenario for achieving that”, he said.

Both sides stopped their offensive operations, but Lebanon and the UN Peacekeepers have failed to remove the threat to Israel by disarming Hizbollah - many believe they will not be ABLE to disarm Hizbollah - and Israel is flying over Lebanon so they can spy on Hizbollah as they rebuild their operations. One of the reasons for the stalemate is recognized by the UN. Peace rests on "the establishment of national consensus among Lebanese and constructive cooperation, based on mutual goodwill and sustained dialogue, by all relevant parties and actors on the regional level, including the Governments of Syria and Iran."

The situation is NOT good, and I truly fear for your safety. It may be time for you and your family to consider moving, at least temporarily, to a more peaceful area of the world.

Err, do these types of places still exist? The world at large is a dangerous place to be, and thats one situation that I dont see changing anytime soon.

Look at it this way: N. Korea just produced its own nukes (they say its for world peace) - right, lets see... we have nine nations now with nuclear weapons capability (USA, Russia, France, Pakistan, China, India, Britain, Israel, and now North Korea) and all claim its for world peace. This is only a false sense of peace (ie: "You mess with me, you got a nuke on your lap") but what happens if one of these nuclear-capable nations became sore with another, for example: US vs Israel... I dont think things would be peaceful for much longer if that were to happen...

The Shebaa Farms are not part of Lebanon. They never were (in recent history). When Israel left Lebanon in 2000, the UN was called in to determine where the exact border was, and they determined that the Shebaa Farms was not part of Lebanon. You keep bringing the farm up, and I keep responding with this.

Would you rather live with the Lebanese government in power or with Hizbullah? And why?

Doesn't Israel claim to not have any nukes (in spite of the fact that the world knows that that's a BS claim)?

I think ChatLink is implying that Israel is an asian equivilent of America - barring one crucial mistake by ChatLink, and that is that Israel is not part of the Asian continent, it's part of the Middle Eastern regions.

PingBad, you'll find that doesn't deter the British from referring to people from the Middle East as "asian". It was confusing the first time I heard it too... in the US, Asians are people from Asia - ie, China, Japan, Korea, etc. People from India are Indian, people from the Middle East are Middle Easterners. When the beeb reports on "asian suicide bombers" I think of Kamikazi pilots.

But yeah... ChatLink was saying Israel is a smaller version of the USA in Asia. Which makes him wrong on both counts.
