I noticed for example that my motd is in colour but on the site here its not. so is there any possibility to get searchirc bot to scan the motds with their colours if there is any?
thanks

It's been a really long time since I looked at that code, but I would imagine the parser is looking for IRC client ^K color codes (Which is used by mIRC, IRCle, XChat, etc). What you are using is ANSI color codes, which as you can see, we currently do not translate into html color.

If you use mIRC simply press Ctrl+K then copy and paste that followed by a number from 0 to 15. Ctrl+B for Bold, Ctrl+U for underlined and Ctrl+O is supposed to end formatting. I dont know what other clients support them in the same way but thats the keys you could press to get the character in mIRC.
